Encrypted DICOM transfer, Swiss data residency, GDPR-aligned processing — audit-ready for EU institutions and government procurement frameworks.

Swiss Data Protection + GDPR: How RadiologyCheck Handles Medical Imaging Across Borders

Handling medical imaging across borders is governed by overlapping data-protection regimes: the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and any country-specific health data laws.

RadiologyCheck is operated from Switzerland (RadiologyCheck GmbH, Bern) under FADP, with explicit GDPR-aligned processing for EU patients. DICOM transfer is encrypted end-to-end. Data residency stays in Switzerland by default; EU residency is configurable for institutional partners.

"For NGO and EU procurement frameworks, audit-readiness is not optional," said Dr. Rahman. "We document every step — data flow, retention policy, named processors, encryption posture — because that documentation is required."
