PARSOR: AI-Assisted Radiology Reporting at RadiologyCheck

A useful radiological second opinion needs to answer the question that brought the patient to us. What do the images show? How does this relate to the previous report? What remains uncertain?

Reviewing the scans is central to that work. It also takes time to organise medical records, bring together previous findings and prepare a report that patients and their treating doctors can follow.

RadiologyCheck’s PARSOR project explores how AI can help with this preparation.

What is PARSOR?

PARSOR stands for Pipeline Automation for Radiology’s Second-Opinion Reports. It is a development project focused on the work that supports a specialist’s assessment.

The tasks being explored include organising case information, supporting transcription and translation, and preparing structured report drafts.

The aim is to reduce repetitive preparation work. Whether the proposed workflow saves time or improves report quality must be established through evaluation.

Does AI interpret the scans?

In the workflow described here, the radiologist interprets the imaging and makes the clinical assessment. PARSOR focuses on supporting report preparation.

The specialist checks the draft against the images and case information, corrects it where needed, and approves the final report. Fluent text alone is not evidence that a medical statement is accurate.

How could this help patients?

Patients need a report that explains the findings, addresses the reason for seeking a second opinion and makes any uncertainty clear.

Better-organised information may help specialists prepare that report. The goal is to support their work while preserving the individual assessment each case requires.

Is PARSOR already available in routine care?

PARSOR is a development project. Features under investigation should not be understood as validated capabilities already available for every patient.
